Shannon answered 2 years ago. SO guys I found the answer!!! The check engine and theft lock light was on the car and it would not start. I unplugged the battery negative terminal and adjusted the positive terminal and guess what!!!
I reconnected the negative the next morning and the car started. First step is open the door with the key remove battery from key first. Pop your hood and connect the battery while the key is in the ignition.
Ok, then while the key was in the ignition I turned it to the point just before you crank the car so the system could check everything. The lights went off and I started the freaking car!!! I was scared to turn off the car but I guess doing this reset the warning lights! I have had nothing but problems with this positive cable of the terminal and I believe there is some type of short in it and there should be a recall because these cars are sketchy.

Here's how you shut off the anti-theft device in your car
Msprincess06 my wuestion is for you. Remove battery from fob before opening door? And do we replace battery before putting key in ignition? So i completely unplugged my battery for a couple of hours and then reconnected them to the terminal. Opened the driver door with my key and put the key in the ignition just before the spin over position and watched all the lights go off on the dash.
The car started. GuruXC46R answered about a year ago. Our truck was doing great and today in the morning we try to turn it on but it turns out to be that the anti theft system was activated so I looked up tricks on google, I got it deactivated but right after that I try to start the engine and stabilititrak is not responding and the engine light is on.
So frustrating I don't know what's going on. I lost the only key I had, went and bought new key followed direction to re program and did not work now dash says "service theft deterrent system" so how do I fix that problem so I can try to pro I have tried taking the battery cable for 15 min and still wont work.
And i also tried unlocking and locking doors with key fobb and manually. My Chevy Cruze wouldn't shift into park last night and the key won't come out. This morning battery was dead, so now it's fully charged but the car won't start, I get a messaged that says service theft deterrent system.
Is there any way I can get the theft system alert offso I can start car to bring to dealership. Remove key from car, remove positive cable for about ten minutes, then place key in car and to the on position, then replace battery cable.
Hjumpy answered 4 years ago. Ok there should be and over ride to the shifter lock, may look like one of these, you are going to have to get it to release and go in to park before you can reset the system as i said above.

Than the anti theft device kicks in. Not sure what is going on. I carry a socket wrench in the car so when it happens I can disconnect the battery and reset the computers. This car is a lemon. Please my own chevy is the manual transmission type. How can I remove the engine lock?Current automobiles use a theft-deterrent alarm system to prevent break-ins. The horn will sound while the headlights flash on and off. This will continue for several minutes unless you deactivate the alarm. After deactivating it, you can reset the alarm to ensure that your GM vehicle security system is set correctly.
Use your GM keyless remote to unlock the doors by pressing the "Unlock" button. This button looks like an opened lock.
The other option is to unlock the doors with the GM key, and turn the car ignition on. These are the only two options for manually deactivating the alarm, and trying to unlock the doors in any other way will not work. Exit the car and leave the door open. Press the lock switch from inside the car to lock the doors. Be sure all other doors, trunk, hood and lift gate are also closed. If anything else is open, the alarm will not be reset. Close the door and wait for the security light to stop flashing from inside the car.
Another option is to close the doors first, and then press the "Lock" button on the keyless remote. This will also pre-arm the theft-deterrent alarm system. If you do not open the doors or press the unlock button on the keyless remote for 10 seconds, the theft-system will go into armed stage.

These systems are constantly evolving. Essentially, they work via an electrical circuit disconnecting to prevent power from flowing so your car won't start or will die immediately. An anti-theft system may also integrate a car alarm or it might just be an engine immobilizer. It's possible that the anti-theft system in your car won't function correctly at some point. This may be for many reasons including a dead car battery that loses its key memory or a dead battery in your remote. It could also be that your immobilizer chip is damaged in your key or the car door lock is damaged.
If your car's anti-theft system isn't working correctly, you'll need to find a way to shut the system off so your car will return to normal operation. Step 1: Check your key fob battery. A car's anti-theft system may activate if your key fob battery is dead and hasn't disabled the system. Make sure the battery is installed correctly in your key fob.
If the battery is correctly installed, replace it with a fresh battery and try again. Step 2: Check your door lock cylinder. If your car has been damaged in an attempt to steal it or break into it, the anti-theft system may have been engaged. Check for damage to the lock cylinder itself or under the door handle where would-be thieves may have punched through with a screwdriver. If the lock is damaged, try using the passenger side cylinder if your car has one.
Step 3: Check that you are using the proper key to start your car. Many cars have a "valet" key or a door key that only performs certain functions such as unlocking the doors. The key you are using may not have the chip required to start your car. If the anti-theft system has locked up your engine, you won't be able to start it. You'll have to disable it with these steps. Step 1: Check for the anti-theft light.
It's located on your dash and will have a blue or red light. Step 2: Turn the ignition to the "on" position. Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the on position, which activates your accessories but not the engine.
Won't Turn On, Theft Deterrent System
Step 3: Check the anti-theft light again. If it's no longer blinking, turn the key back to the Off position and allow it to set for a minute or two. Step 1: Insert your key in the lock on the door. The system is automatically disarmed when the vehicle is started with the correct key.
The key uses a transponder that matches an immobilizer control unit in the vehicle and automatically disarms the system. Only an authorized key starts the vehicle.
The vehicle may not start if the key is damaged. The security light in the instrument cluster comes on if there is a problem with arming or disarming the theft-deterrent system. When trying to start the vehicle, the security light comes on briefly when the ignition is turned on. If the engine does not start and the security light stays on, there is a problem with the system. Turn the ignition off and try again. If the engine still does not start, and the key appears to be undamaged or the light continues to stay on, try another ignition key.
If the engine does not start with the other key, the vehicle needs service. If the vehicle does start, the first key may be damaged. See your dealer who can service the theft-deterrent system and have a new key made.
Do not leave the key or device that disarms or deactivates the theft-deterrent system in the vehicle. Removal Procedure Raise and the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.

Exterior MirrorsI have a Chevy Malibu in the anti theft deterrent system is on will not let me start the car how do you fix this problem?
G A answered 2 years ago. Try this: from the inside manually lock all the doors except the drivers, with key in hand exit the vehicle then close and using the key lock the drivers door, wait at least a minute or two then with the key unlock the drivers door and then check to see if the system has been deactivated.
If not then you have a faulty door switch, bad wiring or a bad processor and it will take someone that knows this system to find the problem. I have a Chevy Malibu LT my security theft system came on and my car won't turn on can you help me on that. GuruWVJY8 answered about a year ago.
