It's very unsettling. It's happened three times now - about once a week. They're about the size of garlic cloves, maybe smaller, they're white but not like paper-white more of an off-white or khaki. They always cluster around one part of the stool and there are a lot of them - way too many for it to be caused by swallowing mucus.

Red kidney bean looking things in poop?

Seems one person in this forum thinks they are un-dissolved pills, but another person said they are fecal fat. Should we collect a sample and send to the doctor? I tend to think they are the metformin tabs because one day I saw three and another day I saw 1, but they looked a bit bigger than the pills, but could be bloated from being in liquid.
Anyone else have pictures to see if they are the same things? Brad Here is the forum post with several comments on ther same sympton and several are taking Metformin and several have them, but are not taking it I'm on Metformin XR tabs for diabetes.
After stressing about what it could be. I took one of my tabs and placed it into about 4 oz of warm water with about 1 tsp of lemon juice simply to make an attempt to produce a vaguely similar environment for when it hits your stomach. I let the tablet set overnight in this solution. When I went to inspect the results I was relieved!!!!!!!! It was the SAME size spongy feeling thingy with a cream cheese consistent center that I had been passing off and on.
It was my Metformin indeed, undigested.Few of us are able to talk about the end result of our digestion without embarrassment. Water and Nutrient Absorption. The mucosal lining of your large intestine is lined with tiny pits that open into long, tube-like intestinal glands; these glands are lined with specialized cells that absorb water, and other specialized cells goblet cells that release mucous into your large intestine to lubricate your stools and to protect the lining of your large intestine against acidic substances and potentially harmful gases.
The specialized cells that absorb water from your waste materials are responsible for about 10 percent of the water that you absorb from the foods and beverages that you ingest; the remaining 90 percent is absorbed by cells that line your small intestine. This 10 percent of water absorption in your large intestine amounts to anywhere between a pint and a quart of water, and represents a significant portion of your body's daily intake of water.
As water is absorbed from the waste material in your colon, so are some nutrients, mainly minerals like sodium and chloride. It takes anywhere between three to ten hours for your large intestine to absorb enough water from waste material to turn it into solid or partially solid stools.Report Abuse.

Here is the problem I have been having: cramping, nausea, diarrhea, and vomiting, followed passing small one inch x one half inch pod-like chicklet-shaped, bean-shaped objects in my stool, which always float and are filled with a white, powdery substance.
I would get very dizzy and nauseated, followed by very intense stomach cramps. Then I would have explosive diarrhea, almost completely liquid. It had a very strange musty smell, almost like mold or mildew. Really, really weird. This kind of thing kept happening. One night it was really bad and I was in the bathroom for hours. Then I started vomiting. It was awful. That is when I saw them. Bright red pod-looking objects in the toilet.
